fave resources & supplies
I wanted to include some of my favorite artists, resources and supplies; whether you’re wanting to learn something new, or a seasoned vet looking for some fun new info. I’ll make a few lists for the supplies I recommend; books, lettering supplies and watercolor supplies.
In my first post, I mentioned Jenna Rainey’s books and I completely stand by that statement that they are perfect for beginners or getting back to basics. She covers basic color theory, starter supplies, basic shapes and way more. It truly helped me get my feet wet and set a good foundation for my watercolor skills.
I’ll do some TikTok videos to show my process for watercolor, scanning and editing soon!

Supplies: Amazon, Blick, or Cheap Joe’s
Paper: Arches cold press & hot press
Brushes: Princeton Aqua Elite, Princeton Velvetouch, Princeton Heritage
Paints: Daniel Smith Watercolors and Winsor & Newton Professional
Palette: I love the giant ones, currently I use a 55 compartment but Blick and Amazon have a few options!
Calligraphy nibs: personally I like the blue pumpkin nib but I highly recommend getting a variety pack and trying out all of them!
Vinyl cutting: Silhouette curio because it has a higher passage and can do SO many things besides vinyl cutting. **update: I just learned this was discontinued! so bummed. but the Circuit Explore 3 seems to offer the same capabilities!
Printer: I use Canon Pixma iP8720 at home, but outsource larger and specialty jobs
Scanner: Epson v39 flatbed scanner. This little guy is a POWEHOUSE but also can slide into one of the drawers in my Ikea storage unit so it doesn’t have to sit on the desk
Label printer: Jaden’s wifi label printer (includes labels!) Quick and easy setup and printing.
There’s so many more so if you’re looking for something specific, just let me know!
